Pamporovo is the southernmost of the big Bulgarian ski resorts — sunny slopes, a mild climate and plenty of family hotels, which makes it a favourite for beginners and families with children. The road from Sofia is long and the last part winds through the Rhodope mountains, so many guests prefer a private transfer to driving themselves after a flight.
We meet you at Sofia Airport with a name board (or pick you up from any Sofia address) and drive along the Trakia motorway to Plovdiv, then through Asenovgrad and Chepelare up to Pamporovo. The journey takes about 3 hours 15 minutes in normal conditions, with a short break on the way.
The 9-seat van takes up to 8 passengers with a dedicated luggage area for skis, snowboards and suitcases. For a bigger group or a full set of equipment we add a luggage trailer or send a second van. We also drive to Chepelare, Smolyan, Shiroka Laka and the hotels around Raykovski Livadi.
Why book a private transfer
The mountain road, handled
The Asenovgrad – Chepelare – Pamporovo section is winding and often snowy. Our drivers know it well and drive it with winter tyres and chains on board.
Room for skis and boards
The van carries the whole group skis, boards and suitcases. For a full kit for 8 people we add a trailer on request.
Straight from the terminal
Name board at arrivals, flight tracking, and straight on to the resort — no changing buses in Sofia or Plovdiv.
Fixed price per van
The price is agreed in advance for the whole van, not per person. No meter and no night tariff.

- Flight tracking — we wait free of charge if you are delayed

The Sofia to Pamporovo road in winter
The route follows the Trakia motorway (A1) to Plovdiv, then road II-86 through Asenovgrad, Bachkovo and Chepelare to Pamporovo. The motorway part is fast; the mountain section after Asenovgrad is slow, and in snow we plan extra time.
| Section | Distance | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Sofia → Plovdiv (Trakia motorway) | ~145 km | ~1h 30min |
| Plovdiv → Asenovgrad | ~20 km | ~20 min |
| Asenovgrad → Chepelare → Pamporovo | ~70 km | ~1h 20min |
Flying into Plovdiv Airport (Krumovo) instead? The drive to Pamporovo is about 85 km and 1h30 — we run those transfers on request too.
